Today a friend of mine lost her 18 year old son and her 15 year old son is in critical condition with brain damage at a hospital here in Minnesota.

They were on their way to school when they lost control of their car and a pick up truck hit them followed by a school bus hitting them as well.

This friend of mine has lost a tremendous and precious son and her other son may not survive. She is a single mom and has been through a lot in her life.

I wanted to say something because this will be the 2nd funeral I will be going to within two weeks and the 3rd funeral within six months that have all been children.

Just thought I'd vent a little.

That's really awful. I'm very sorry for your and your friend's loss. No words can really express such sorrow.

I'm at a loss for words.
Maybe the one thing I ask of life, is to NOT outlive any of my kids.
Nothing can possibly ease that pain.

Truly awful. I felt sick reading about your friend's tragedy. Condolences aren't enough but mine go out to her.

Ali, my thoughts are with you and your friend tonight. I could not even begin to comprehend how she must be feeling right now, good that she has friends like you around to try to comfort her.

As a parent I can still not fully imagine the pain of losing a child, let alone the possibility of losing another in the same accident.

I sincerely hope the 15 year old comes out of this unscathed. Regards from Iceland, Larus.

As someone who lost someone so close, I can just feel the loss again and again, the agony the pain the questions and even the blame. My heart goes out to the family and to you ali626, sometimes we just do not understand. Words of condolences sounds so hollow, so empty of meaning at a time like this. But please accept my sharing intimately your sorrow, and I pray it will not be without some sense that this has happened.

My prayers are with you and them.
I can somewhat relate as a friend/co-worker was shot back in October and is still in ICU needing assitance breathing. She turned 21 in November, was pregnant when whe was shot (lost the baby). It is very rough on her father as his wife of 22 years died of complications from surgery in August.
i hope Ricardo gets well soon.
