I'm starting a photo a day i guesS! :)
My question is what is the size of the file you upload
640pixels and 150kb or do you but the large file or smaller?

I have a strange habit of resizing things to 800 pixels on the longest side, and saving at 100% quality. That's what I have been uploading to buzznet. :o)

but doesn't that take years to upload? :)

It hasn't yet... the site was really slow last night for some reason but normally it's just as fast as DPC. I connect using broadband so it's not usually a problem at all. :o)

using broadband it shouldn't take too long.. you can upload pretty much whatever size you want - buzznet will resize it anyways (i believe it makes the longest dimension 400).

I wondering that the other day; does anybody know of someone that acutally completed the typical "photo-a-day"? I mean, I see people all the time say they are going to start it, but have never heard of one that completed it.

I always save my "smallsize" photos at 750 pix on the longest side and then I use them for my desktop background each day...

I just signed up too, attempting the Photo-a-Day project (which means I've just uploaded 8 photos).

I added you all as friends over at Buzznet. I try to check on all the PADs from the DPCers every day. Nice to you have you along.

Buzznet is really good, but I think it's a shame they make the max size 400 pixels. That's not really enough when you want to see details in a photo someone has uploaded :(

i agree.. if only they were larger! i used to use another site that had 550 as max dimension and that seemed quite adequate to me.. i guess what the 400 does do is cover up any of my imperfections :P

Yes, I agree about the size issue, too - I would really like to see some the images larger. As for my own, I've been uploading them with 1000 pixels on the longest side (except the ones taken with the Panasonic DMC).

i remember seeing somewhere on the site a button not to resize the photos, but i've been looking and can't find it. i guess it was on that site.

Buzznet does have some flaws with the image size but I think seeing as so many DPC'ers have joined up over there that it is more about the community we've created and the inner support and motivation to keep taking pictures every day.
