had a quick look at the original challenge, but the thought remains does "waldo' have to be human? does Woody or similar inanimate object(s)meet the criteria?
Needless to say I have an Idea. |

No woodies, unless woodies are the 'other' components ;-) |

It says "person", I would think that a person would have to be human.
But what do I know! |

Can someone please explain to an English non-native speaker what the heck is Waldo? I got it has to be a person but what is WALDO?
Sorry for my ignorance... |

It refers to a set of books titled "Where's Waldo" where the reader was challenged to find a cartoon character dressed in a red & white sweater and cap in a cluttered scene.
It is also a county in the state of Maine (I've always wondered if that was related, since Waldo is dressed like a stereo-typical down-easter).

As far as I know, Waldo is a cartoon character in a famous magazine (forgot which one). He wears a hat with red and white stripes so obviously he was hidden in a picture with many red-white striped objects. The point was to find Waldo among the similar-looking patterns. Kinda boring if you ask me. |

In UK he appears in the Where's Wally? kids books.
Could be an interesting challenge! |

Sp is the main goal of this challenge to take a picture where it's as hard as possible to find the person or is the goal to take the best picture and have a small person somewhere in it just to fit the challenge?

I was wondering this myself. I just now looked at the high scoring photos from Where's Waldo 1, and it looks like it's more of just having a small person there, not necessarily hidden. |

Yeah, I don't know... I',m umming and ahing over a shot I have. It's really quite difficult to find the person...and while an interesting image, not really pretty. Also I think my person is perhaps too hideen, and that will result in voting down.
It seemed to me from the last challenge that the prettiest shots won, not the ones in which it was hard to find the person. In two of the three ribbon winners the person is quite conspicuous.

So reading all of this i can assume it's a bit the same like finding a needle in a haystack, a little thing in a big crowd?
