That would involve having a significant other.

I don't have an other, let alone a significant one.

My SO hates to be in front of the camera; she is not about to get behind it. :(

Anastasia would have a shot at that title, too.

This is too funny. When I saw this thread, I just had to respond. I talked my husband into joining this site. He is a math teacher with NO art background. He does have a much better eye for what the general public likes. He kicked by butt in the broken challenge with his first entry. He is currently kicking my butt in the mechanical challenge, uhm...like say about 1.3 points. My stuff seems to get stuck at around a 5-5.5. His hovers around a 6+. My whole family thinks it is a kick. He was diagnosed with M.S. last year and had to give up coaching after 23 years. He decided it would be good to exercise the other side of his brain and joined the site half-heartedly. It is really pretty cool that he is doing so well!

Ha. This is very funny in my case. I asked my s. other to click the shutter with my Broken image. I prefocused and placed ide, scarf around my neck and took position. She argued, "get this out of the way, can't you understand that Christmas decorations are more important then these games." Clutching the ide in my teeth with mask on I yelled back, please pay attention. We do not want to return to basement. She said I am not coming back. lol

Ain't it the truth ... I've been beaten in a challenge by my son, but not since he was five.

Top 3 Most Likely To Have SO Beat Them In Challenge:

1) Anastasia - How about a 6.2 average and being *only* 15 ribbons behind your loved one?
2) Nazgul - How would you like to have a blue ribbon, 5.7 average and still be the second best photog in the relationship?
3) Marianne Sidwell - 5.73, 1 ribbon and *just* David's 16 ribbons.

In the Backlighting challenge, my daughter's image beat mine by a very healthy margin:

Hers: 7th place

Mine: 88th place

my fiance' and I haven't been in the same challenge, yet, but after just 2 tries ... she has a higher average than me and a ribbon already.

Needless to say ... i'm pissed off

I don't think we overlap many challenges but I'm pretty sure my hub's average score lately is beating mine...

I'm quite chuffed for him, actually.

I'm ahead on recent averages (although not overall), but you have to go right back to the Rusted challenge to find something we both entered.

Sadly, mine came in at 4.73

while hers managed 5.158

Yes, how insulting!!! I read book, tutorials, looked at photo for hundreds of hour checking for composition lighting exposure, etc... At her first challenge she beat me by 99 places.
