I think the Eagles players made it by default, as the NFC sucks so bad this year and there was nobody else to send. ;-)
The Colts are sending a few to Hawaii after they win the Super Bowl.
Marvin Harrison
Peyton Manning
Edgerrin James
Dwight Freeney

Anyone dare to guess the points on the Probowl this year? Somewhere around Mid 50's to let's say 10 or 17...
San Diego puts in:
Drew Breese (QB)
Ladainian Tomlinson (RB)
Antonio Gates (TE) |

Hmmm ... between two teams we're sending ... the PUNTER. Good thing we don't have long to wait for next year.
Oh well, at least we've traded our two best pitchers (Hudson, Mulder) and aquired yet another 38 year-old outfielder (M. Alou) ... maybe we should just hibernate for a year and aim for 2006. |

Ok guys help me out here.
I'm a Brit, I whilst I have seen a number of the televised games through out the season, I'm not sure I have worked out how the ProBowl fits in.
What is the process for the selection, and how does the whole thing pan out.
Would I be correct in guessing it's akin the two leagues Most Valuable Players..... |

The Pro Bowl is a version of an All-Star game, voted-on (I think) by players and coaches. Unlike the other "major" sports, this game is held after the season ends (instead of in the middle) because of the high likelihood of injury.
There is another designation called "All-Pro" which I think is voted on by writers, but it is an award only, with no game attached.

The number one run defense (the Chargers) got totally dissed. Donnie Edwards should have been a lock.
On the other hand, with three selections and three alternates, we did a little better than last year... |

I don't think too many players get injured in the Pro Bowl. Blitzing is not allowed and for the most part the opposing players don't go after each other with nearly the ferocity they show during the regular season and playoffs. However, once in a while old scores will get settled and axes ground. |
