This challenge was suggested by several users in the past, and was (at least in one instance) inspired by an advertising campaign that found "hidden faces" in the world around us.
Based on this thread, I think people are looking at this challenge without being creative. Take a look at these images from the campaign:
and maybe you'll have a better idea of what this challenge should be about... it is about seeing creatively, not necessarily about finding a "face" in a cloud or a rock formation... |

If you find the face of the Virgin Mary in your grilled cheese, remember the last one sold on ebay for $28K.

These are the two I see:
And here's a stone "head" I found in Bryce Canyon while visiting in September. (There are a lot of rock figures there!)

I see a looooong time to vote on this one as we stare at pictures trying to find the face in each one :) |

Profile shots allowed? Now I gotta go look for that piece of driftwood. That should be fun.

Theres a cool canadian artist that finds pieces of nature and finds images in them.
Go here and check out the "Click this link to view the original, natural formation." link

Wow! I never saw the face during voting. This shot is so much better than I had thought.

OH MY GOD I JUST GOT THE GREATEST IDEA.
Won't win me anything, but I've been obsessed with this image forever anyway, might as well take a nice picture of it.
Oh man XD |

I'm unclear on exactly what is allowed in this challenge. How staged can this shot be? |

This challenge is really hard. I don't think I will have anything to submit. Great idea though. |

This can be as staged as you wish. I'm not speaking for the voters opinions however. I would suggest, from the challenge wording, that a studio shot will get panned, however.

That's funny because from the challenge wording it seems like a studio shot would be ok. Just not the use of any object that already has a face. |

i thought the same thing. Then i turned around to get up...and went to get my camera. We'll see how it turns out. I think my entry lacks a strong composition, but it does have a face!

I don't know if anyone has seen it, but there is a photo in the challenge 'Pets and Their People' of a dog (I know...many of those) and as the image was loading in my browser I saw a perfect face on the dogs head that at first I thought was some trick where the photog had incorporated their image... Hint - it's a black dog.
Whoever owns that dog has a great shot for 'Hidden Faces'... |
