Well after coming on here a month ago and asking about Pro-sumer versus DSLR to replace my 35mm SLR...I finally did it and bought a Pro1.
Decided that at this time it did everything I wanted for now...had a great lense...good coverage with the 28-200...macro...fully manual capabilities...and now with firmware update I could not find a reason not to get it. Of course it is backordered through BestBuy so might not get it before XMas...but am waiting anxiously.

I also found a site that is a Pro1 forum and a guy on there has some great pictures that are all with a Pro1 except the most recent ones in past month which are from his new 20D.... they are stunning though.
A Great Gallery of Pro1 images I found

Congrats...Brock, remember if you have any questions about the Pro1 just ask. I've run a few pics (over 11000) through mine in six months. Can't wait to see some of your SuperMacro Shots (Don't use MacroMode except in a pinch).

And yes the firmware update makes it a new camera...autofocus single mode 50% faster and continuious 30% faster. Anyone with the Pro1 needs to do this update.

You will be amazed while looking at your first card full from this bad boy, make room on your hard disk because when you look at em it is hard to toss any of the shots out.

You'll love it as I do. I got got a 20D so my wife could have the Pro1 (to get rid of her limited Oly C-5000Z). So it is still in the family.

Did you get the necessities with it? A 1G CF (512M will work at first) and a spare battery (If you use display only to chimp a battery will go all day).

The Telecoverter and Speedlite 420EX both work superbly on the Pro1.

Again Congrats...

Andy

Thanks for responses...I am getting the spare battery and an extra card initially. I am going to go without processing for a while...I am a firm believer that you learn about your equipment and how to optimize it before you start messing with it post production...haha.
I cant wait for it to arrive though...maybe by Wednesday but of all the cameras that was the only one they would not honor the next day shipping...haha

Thanks, awpollard, for pointing out that firmware update. I got my 20D a couple of days ago, used a pro1 before that (which I will NOW get the update for). I'll be keeping my pro for the macro shots and shots in awkward places, since the DSLR's don't have that wonderful flip screen.

Brock, have fun with your new cam. My only complaints about it were that at times the autofocus just can't make up its mind, and that its too slow on the startup. Other than that, its a great camera. Enjoy!

A very good choice. I hope it gets to you soon and am looking forward to seeing some images from your new baby.

bestbuy says they are trying to get it to me by 24 Dec...that would be a week early....so wish me luck. Guess what I will be doing all weekend if she arrives early...LOL

Good luck. :) I was supposed to get my 50mm 1.8 Mk II on Friday, then today. I called and the guy was supposed to get back to me. Never did today. Just hope I have it to shoot the kids opening their presents.

I have been thinking of shots I want to do for the past two months...and almost bought a new Elan 7Ne film to hold me over...still might get one since I cut my teeth on film...but want to focus on learning the nuances of digital and seeing how things work out in that media without manipulation. I AM LOOKING forward to being able to review photographs immediately instead of after processing on a light table...hahaha
