I wish I had that little rolling-eyes smiley to put here...
When you show someone a pic that you've shot, do you really think they will ask you (or for that matter, even care) "So what color is the camera that shot this?"
Either one, black or silver, it doesn't matter. Just get a camera and shoot. :o)

Personally ... get the silver and then spend the $100 u saved on a teleconverter, the 50mm 1.8, or the grip BG-E1. :)

Honestly.. look at both the cameras and decide which one *you* like the best.
Any strange perception of either camera being 'better' or more 'badass' is all in an individual's head, and is certainly not going to be the deciding factor in photography itself.. unless one is so far stuck in the realm of psychological dependance on style that it actually *does*..
Which would just be sad.

I'm convinced the whole "silver isn't cool" thing is perpetuated on this website. I always liked the silver because it looked like the film rebels...
I'm geeky that way.
But now, having joined this website and realizing the weird stigma surrounding the ownership of a silver SLR I would be tempted to go black.
It really doesn't matter.

So are we saying that now I should feel bad and take my silver one back to get the black one simply so I can be "cool? Do you understand how "junior high" this is? Please let me know you aren't really serious.

I think they are serious . . . . . . . I never knew, either, until I came to DPC!

who knows - maybe the reason that i got my used rebel so cheap ($600, everything that came with kit, great condition, with bg-e1 grip and a small memory card) is cuz its silver! yay for silver!
(actually, i think he was just in a hurry to sell)

I've heard more than once that a good reason to buy the battery grip is because it makes the camera look cooler/more professional! |

I don't know about "bad-ass", but I personally like the look of the black one better. I think the silver one looks like a toy. |

Sure, it's fast but let's get our priorities straight...I mean, it's black! |

The silver one is so 2003. My black Rebel is scheduled to arrive Thursday. :-)
This past Sunday, the price difference btwn black and silver (body only) at B&H was $90, then yesterday it dropped to $40...very funny that the color of the body commands more $$ at least for now. |

You should come to Japan to buy one. No matter what color you choose, they all say "Kiss" instead of "Rebel" on them. Nothing more badass than that. :-)

hrmm...see this is the problem, I change my mind like 20 times a day. I basically had it in my shopping cart and was ready to hit purchase, and now I'm having second thoughts. *sigh*
anyway, I think when the time does come (at least for this moment), I've decided on the rebel ... although that could change at any moment.
