i was really on the fence about submitting this for the wind challenge. on one hand, it has a lot of drama, especially with the storm blowing over. on the other, the foreground water is just too still (probably too still for most to see the image meeting the challenge). also, as much as i tried, i just couldn't do the image justice under basic editing. so, i thought i'd share it here.
this was shot just outside of williamsburg, va, on rt 5. that's the james river on the far horizon. the foreground is a completely saturated cornfield.
as always, your comments are welcome.

you should have entered this to the wind challenge
I'd have given it good score, 7+ depending on my mood, time, tides, alien control etc

Very nice photo, Skip, but I agree with your decision not to include it in the WIND challenge. I appreciate your profile page; will lift up your friends. |

Thanks for all your comments! They are truly appreciated. This image, to me, is the essence of what DPC does. A mere five months ago, I would have taken this image right out of the camera and have been done with it. But now, due largely to the feedback I've gotten from the challenges and from people like ya'll, reviewing my work, I know that there's more in that image than meets the eye. I can't thank you enough!!!
Just take a look for yourself:

and Petur, it's that alien-control thing that had me most concerned... |
