To all D-Rebel owners in the US, Canon USA is having a photo contest where you can win a 20D, a 580EX and a Printer.

We must be careful, this could stir another round of anti-Americanism due to severe attacks of envy... best of luck to all of you who can and will participate.

Crazy 'mericans... get all the best contests. Why can't Canon Canada come up with stuff like that?

They never mention anything about postprocessing? Also, how do they plan to validate that the image has indeed been taken from a Canon D-Rebel? |

Anyone else notice that the prize description on the opening page is different from that in the rules? Opening page has the speedlite as 2nd prize and the printer as third. In the rules the reverse is true.
Hmmm... |

Uggghhhh, My camera went into CompUSA on Monday. They said 7-14 days I should get it back. They called me yesterday (three days later) to say they sent it into the shop and it should be back 7-14 days... Now I'm up to Christmas eve. If it's not back then, it'll be at least two more days (who's open on Chirstmas.) Guess it's time to go through my CD-Roms... |

Thanks. But don't you think they could have afforded to give a Canon EOS-1D Mark II? I'd love to have a full frame sensor for wide angle, but would never spend that kind of money on one! |

I always laugh at how these big ass companies always seem to cheap out when they prepare contests like this.
Like Neil said, why not give out a bigger prize or a wider range of prizes (lenses, etc)? The more advertisement the better. Also, why do they always have contests for USA only. You'd think that they could set up similar contests for their other distribution regions.

Just a little correction...the 1D Mark II has a 1.3x Crop factor. The only Full frame D-SLR is the 1Ds and 1Ds Mark II
I guess their reasoning is that someone who has a Rebel will be VERY happy if they get a 20D...I know I'd be... :)

The only way you can submit is via a CDROM or Email, so even with post processing, I believe *someone can correct me on this* that the Exif for the camera stays intact, hence what kind of file and what kind of camera. I could be wrong though. They might just ask for the original like they do here =)
