I''m assuming that if someone leaves of a comment of one word...namely the word "no"...that someone here must be getting the comment of "yes".
And no what? .....no way? no shadows? no contrast? no winner? no loser? no intelligence or grasp of the human language that will let you expand on this comment?
I''d even be happy with "no freakin'' way is this meeting the challenge" instead of just..."no".
By the way, I''m ranting, venting..releasing pent-up sexual tension...call it what you will. Just don''t say NO!!!
:) have a nice day now, ya hear?
Karen

Here's an idea....if someone leaves less than 3 words....it will be thrown viciously back at the commentator on their own comments page..or email..if they don't submit. lol...ok..maybe I'm going a little overboard. How about a minimum number of words for a comment rule? Or....how about we have a tutorial on how to critique and if you don't have the intelligence enough to give a positive or negative CONSTRUCTIVE critique...you must pass some sort of test before you can even login to this website? lol.... ok...ok.....it's all the darkroom time in college.....I'll go rest now.

ROFL!
Actually, I am working on a tutorial on constructive commentary and how to critique/vote... I doubt it will help with the one-word types though.

What's your problem? Didn't you notice the :) at the end of the line? Or do you only find your "friends" comments funny? |

Terry,
I could definately use a little help with the critique. So far I can only comment on my reaction. I would like to comment more on the technical aspect as well as composition. But I'm pretty sure I didn't leave any 1 worders :-)

As you know by now, I'm pretty much against revealing pictures before the voting has finished and I think I made some good points too. So far I haven't heard any good arguments against my points. Especially the point that a photo can always be discussed afterwards! Since my posts yesterday, I've read some sarcastic remarks about this topic like "I hope this doesn't give my picture away" or some remarks in the "lightbulb" thread. I'm sure you've read them too. So I decided to make a funny remark myself.
Most of the time you are giving funny replies on other funny posts as well, but your your reaction on my post sounded pretty serious to me. Unlike you do in other replies, you didn't use a smiley sign this time. That, plus the fact that you mentioned a link where everbody can see your photos, kind of pissed me off and that's why I reacted the way I did.
I think I was overreacting and want to apoligize for that.

You're probably right about that Terry. I'd like to see the tutorial though :) |

Remie,
I didn't take it that way and I know how you feel about revealing a photo before the challenge is over. I have, as stated yesterday, promised not to do that anymore. I post my work online to get critique and that's about all I'm after.
No harm done :)

A particular helpful comment:
6/20/2002 (3:54:02 PM) - squash your head
But I would not want that comments with less than so and so words are rejected. It's critique. Not helpful but better than nothing. Just never ever allow commenting anonymously. People will start spamming and threatening just for the fun of it. I've seen that in other forums. |
