2005 Calendar

My first 'annual' calendar is complete. After doing this one, I think I will do several for next year with specific themes :)

Very nice looking. Interestingly, I have a very similar shot to your June shot as the January shot in my 2005 calendar.

These would be printed by EZPrints. The base price on them is $11.95 each.

What size is that, and are you binding it or is it a stack/set of loose photos? Looks great, of course. Your design skills are improving too.

Each page of the calendar is 8.5"x11" and it is wire bound by the vendor. So when the calendar is displayed, there is an 8.5x11 print at the top, then the wire binding, and then an 8.5x11 calendar page below it... here is an example photo that someone posted...

That looks great for twelve bucks. I'll have to reactivate my DA Prints account : )

If you're only making one or a few then you can make a nice calendar on your home printer and take it to Kinkos for binding. It's something like $4.50 for binding, drilling, and two clear covers.

That's gonna be a bit difficult since my cut is $4 :)

John, what steps did you take to make this happen (other than select 12 photos!)?

And how long did it take?

Edit: It looks incredible...

I was hoping to see a December shot of you in nothing but a Santa hat. :(

(You spelled photography wrong in your bio.)

There are actually 14 images when you count the front and back cover... I just had to upload them and associate all of them with my presentation image (the front cover). It took me about an hour or so not counting the upload time. I reprocessed the images so they would all have the same tone and it took about 10 mins to create the front and back covers.

So deviantart takes care of the grid for the calendar and everything?

How long would it take for them to print these and have them available for sale? If I got something made up this weekend do you think I'd get it in time for the new year?

I hope it's not a pop-up card.

I would suggest you go to the DPC prints store and they have dealines for the holidays depending on the type of shipping. Since they deal through EZPrints the deadlines should be the same.

On another note... Can someone tell me if the new DPCPrints will have the calendar option??

If you deal directly with the printer, you should have no trouble.

I have decided to do a second calendar with some of my color photos. I'll post that one when it is available later tonight or tomorrow.
