... DPChallengers does it take to change a lightbulb?

7 to shoot pictures of a lightbulb.
15 to complain that lightbulbs are cliche.
3 to say they don't think lightbulb pictures fit the current challenge.
4 to say they should have used a softer light.
5 to say the lightbulb should have been cropped more closely.
5 to say the lightbulb should have been cropped less closely.
8 to complain in the forums about how their lightbulb is being scored.
2 of those to reveal which lightbulb is theirs.
6 to complain that you should keep your lightbulb anonymous until the end of the challenge.
9 to say that anonymity is a joke anyway so why bother.
1 to put down the way the winners changed their bulb.
6 to tell that person they should keep quiet until they try changing a bulb themselves.
2 to complain about the picture of a floodlight without a lampshade
3 to say that lightbulbs come in all shapes and sizes and we should appreciate that.

Feel free to add to this list.

Along with:

1 to make a list of what everyone else is doing

Don't forget the 20 people who take photos of their cat, dog or baby changing the lighbulb and give it a "humorous" title :)
06/20/2002 11:56:00 AM · #5
and 4 more to photograph a lightbulb in the sunset...

5 to complain that the challenge should have been to change any light source.
9 to argue about the definition of lightbulbs.
8 to evolve the lightbulb discussion into one involving nuclear physics and bananas.
6 to post lightbulb outtakes.
1 of those say that they really should have submitted one of the above outtakes.
3 to claim that their camera is inadequate for taking lightbulb pictures.
2 to say that good lightbulb pictures can be taken with any camera.
4 to say that no one should care about their score, just their comments.
7 to say that they aren't getting enough good comments on their lightbulbs.

This is fun.

1 to describe the way Ansell Adams changed lightbulbs, but of course the rules here are far too restrictive for any of us to do it that way.
06/20/2002 12:18:00 PM · #10
1 to break down their rating into lightbulb, changing, and overall
3 to post "nice lightbulb!" comments
2 to ask how to see the current rating of their image on the home page
and 100+ to obsessively refresh the homepage about once every few minutes, just to see their score vary by 0.002 each time ;o)

2 to assume that the light bulb is not really on and the light effect had been photoshopped.

... and two more to complain that photoshopping should be allowed when you could get the same effect in the darkroom.

4 to make photograph themselves changing the light bulb
1 to photograph himself from the front, nude, changeing a light bulb.
1 to photograph herself in one corner of the photo changing the lightbulb, leaving "negative space" in the rest of the shot.

You're all gonna be sorry when Drew and Langdon read this and that light bulb goes off and they post next week's challenge as "Bright Idea -- photograph your favorite source of illumination."
