I went home to oklahoma for thanksgiving and pretty much made my best friend take pictures it was very windy and cold. I am going to send some to her as a christmas gift and i am not sure which ones I like since i have been looking at the same picutes for 3 days editing them and i am still not done.

so please take a look and tell me which shots you like and any suggestions for editing.. i wish i had a program where i could do something a little more interesting with them but i worked with what i have

There will be more to come I havent even stepped into the pictures of my 11 yr old sister who begged everyday for me to take pics of her.

Nice work--did you take those with your 828?

My favorites are 1 and 8B--they seem to have the most natural, flattering poses. Most of them could use a slight bump up in contrast and a bit more USM, but they are good overall.

Hi Katrina,
Those are great shots!! And I think the editing you've done is quite nice. I wouldn't change much, if anything. They look very natural and the colors are great. Some of the B&W's are a little flat but others are great. I have a few favorites:

Manda10B is fantastic. I love the expression you captured. It's so natural and makes you want to laugh with her.
Manda4 is also a great one, wonderful colors and composition.
Others I like are Manda1, Manda13B and Manda8B.

I think your friend would be happy to receive any of these. Great eye!
Jen

Greetings,
Manda 1 and 11 are my favorites, I'm not a big fan of the black and whites, IMHO it makes the scene too somber and bleak, don't get me wrong, they have their place, I'm just not sure that this is it.

Zal- yes i took all the shots with the 828, and i tend to over do contrast alot so i was trying to stay away from that maybe a little too much.. ill go back and do the final touches and keep that in mind ..thanks

and mfairbanks i think i agree, i say "i think" because like i said i cant make up my mind. i am the most undecisive person i know...i did a color version, a b&w version, A slight desat of all colors for an antique look version, and a soft version of most of these. i think i will just print up a couple that i like for a gift then just send her the disc with all the versions so she can pick the ones she likes if she wants too.

I am in complete agreement with jenesis. But I have to say that Manda 10B is my absolute favorite. That's definitely a keeper.
