These are of my sister, and she's wanting to give her boyfriend one of these for a Christmas present. Hopefully one of these will work out.

All are nicely focused and composed, but I'd have to say that the second and last ones are best. =)

I think they are all just wonderful...she's such a pretty lady and you did such a great job on all of them! My personal favorite is the third one, by the tree. She has such a happy expression! The last one is my second favorite. I'm sure, however, that her boyfriend will be tickled to receive any of them! :o)

I agree 3rd and last. Number 2 has a great smile, and I would probably like that one just as well if it had a tighter crop eliminating some or most of the pipe fence. Great shots.

I agree with singe, the second and last are standouts. I really like the BG in the second, the serpentine road adds something, and her expression is great. If I were choosin', it would be #2.

They are nice, but she looks like she's your sister. I try to shoot mine all the time, and I really dont get real expressions? Must be the relation factor? I do like number 2 the best! The dof works well. It could be cropped a bit closer if you have the flexibility. I will tell ya one thing, everyone thinks that kids are the toughest to shoot??? Try adults, especially when you are related? Thats been my toughest customer. Great job crabapple

Before I post... Will your sister/her boyfriend read this? :-).

She looks natural and relaxed in these shots, and I think I prefer #2 & 5. The autumn colours go well, IMHO.

But, the lighting is a little flat (overcast day?) and the jacket just isn't working for me. (Doing my best queer eye for the straight guy voice).

The leather jacket is probably appropriate for the weather, but it really looks too 'heavy' for these shots, unless you're going for the 'I'm packing heat' look, in which case she could hide two uzi's and a small anti-aircraft installation in the pockets..

As always, just my 2c worth.

Cheers, Chris H.

Fav for me is the last one.....she's looking at the camera and her lovely smile is more relaxed. Also like #3 next to the tree, but not as keen on the b/g.

Thanks for all the comments. She saw the pics today and is very pleased with them. She can't decide which one to give to her bf though, so I guess that's a good thing. :-)

I like 6466 best.. natural relaxed pose, amazing bokeh. Great colours. What lens did you use?

These were all shot with the Nikor 70-200 f/2.8 VR lens. That shot was at f/3.5

When I'm shooting outdoor portraits I tend to use that lens most often. Having more working distance allows the people to be more relaxed and I get more keepers that way.

Thanks,

I have found that with women who are concerned about their weight they think lifting their chin up will make them look slimmer. It just becomes habit after a while, but it has the opposite effect. I don't know if that's the case here or if she just happened to have her head back.

She's a pretty lady :-) Nice color on these shots.
