My 85 yr. old Dad. He's very active in his WWII Division - the 80th "Blueridge" Army division. I asked if I could take a couple of shots of him with his hat.

I'd really appreciate any comments. By the way, we bought him his first digital camera for his 85th birthday (right before he left for a cruise), and he loves it! He had just purchased a new computer a few months before then.

Good for him. He looks very alert. Good to hear he is so active still. Where's he cruising to?

I like the B & W shot the best, they are both good, but I think the pose and the crisp look to that shot is a winner for sure, a great portrait!

i like them both, but feel that the bw brings out more of a richness of character.

I like the BW a lot, but the color one shows off his deep blue eyes.

B/W is my fav too. He'll have so much fun with that camera while he's away.

Just like everyone else, I think the B&W shot is best.
The angle and the contrast seems to tell more of a story behind the man.

Happy to read that he's having fun with his new digital camera :)
Maybe we'll get to see some pics from his cruise?

I like the B & W the best, conveys more to me anyway.

Thanks everyone for your comments! :) They are most appreciated.

I prefer the b/w one myself, but I think Dad will like the straight-on color shot. I wanted one that captured the words on the hat, but I also wanted one that showed his full face.

He's a cheap model too...just a couple of plates full of turkey and dressing! :)
