I took another trip to Ratcliffe today and shot this one. I thought that the scale makes for an interesting photo.

I like the idea - a small house beside a giant tower - but I think the flat lighting maans the full menace is not conveyed. I've had a quick attempt to add some menace, if that's what you had in mind.

I like it a lot...I wish that the tower was a little sharper/bolder as well, but overall it does look menacing.

I agree that in needs a little "something" to boost the flat lighting. Perhaps a more graduated tone would work better. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to work on it and comment.
Much appreciated
Bob

I'm not clear on why one would want the photo to look "menacing". And, just in case some do not know, the tower is just a cooling tower. Nothing comes out of it except "steam" from cooling the water.

From what I gather, the intent of the incredible contrast between tower and house is to be menacing or 'overpowering'...maybe I'm mistaken, that's how I perceive it.

Edit: Although, I have to admit I didn't realize it was just steam coming out of there...it's still very overpowering, though.

Incidentally, here's another from the same shot. I'm not sure which conveys the scale best.

I like this one for actually showing the scale of the building against the massive cooling towers. At first I thought the building was part of the power plant, but is that actually someone's HOUSE??

Please don't be mad at me, but I let myself play around with your photo.
I really liked the last one! It gave me kinda science-fiction feeling. Some kinda future life on out poluted earth. (Although I understand this was only water steam. In my country we have a couple of those buildings, and I can assure you they don't pull out steam... They seriously polute the whole area)
Anyway, this one IMO also conveys the scale much better then the first one.

The proccess includes cloning-out the dark mess on the left side and cloning-in the missing parts on the right. Added contrast and then some adjustments to the curves. And last was neatImage.

Adi et al

As always, please feel free to "have a play". I really like the Surrealist feel to your version.
