Greetings!
I got a photo of mine published today, FRONT PAGE this time www.conwaydailysun.com
is the papers website, and the original photo is on my site at www.mikefairbanks.smugmug.com/gallery/281893/1/11358503
their circulation is about 65k daily and I had been published in it before, once, but not on the front page now I'm psyched up, front page, beat out their own staff photog for the spot too! (Ooops, lmao!)

cool, I was wondering about how to get your pictures published.
Do you just send your pictures in your what?
or do you have a connection with the newspaper? |

To answer your question Intelli, I can't speak for all newspapers but for the one I have been published in, If i take a photo of somehting I think they might be interested in I email or call them up, talk to the right person (In this case one of the editors) see if they're interested, if they are I send 'em copies of what I have and they decide if they can use them or not, either way they let me know, usually in a few hours the thing to remember is time is vital to the news industry, if you have shots they want them NOW not tommorow, or tonight after work, they want them ASAP. Also if they're interested I make sure I don't send them a bunch of crap shots to look at, Iusually pick no more than 6 to show them. Hope I've answered your question.

Update, wow, my little photo is certainly traveling, it was picked up and used by WMUR-9, the state's biggest TV station, in Manchester as part of the 6pm news Tue night.
