20D $904
Have any of you delt with this outfit? I called them and they say it is not grey market and that it comes with the manufacturer's 1 year warranty. Very tempting, and they have it in stock. |

If it looks too good to be true then STAY AWAY! Deal with reputable dealers only to avoid headaches and heartaches and an empty bank account.

| I find practically nothing about them on the web, this would make me worried. In fact the only reference I could find on google was their web site. |

Of course, you could check your credit card's policy against fraud. I know I encountered fraud once (*much* less expensive item, though) and the card company advised that I deny the charges. So I got my money back.
(edited to finish thought here, duh)
So, you could use your credit card if they have that coverage and you were worried.

| Look at the prices of those accessories. They are high. I can pretty much "guarantee" they won't sell the camera to you unless you buy a bunch of those, and then the total price will be back to normal. It's a very common ploy. |

You can get a review of them at this address, //www.resellerratings.com/seller8519.html
They are not the best but not too too too bad. |

I'd rather buy something from a store locally than somewhere on the internet. It's much easier because you can actually go there and SEE a person or that the store DOES exist and is not some schmuck running a website out of his basement.
Not to mention, it's a lot easier if there's a problem to walk back to the store and talk to the manager than to make a phone call, be put on hold, and forgotten about.
Just my $.02 |

just look at one of the reviews of the site:
"8/25/04 11:21 PM
This store is a fraud, if you don't buy their accessories, they will say your order is backordered for 6-8 weeks."

Search the FM 'For Sale' boards. There is a post or two about a rebate coupon from DELL that will get you near the $1,200 range.
As always, do your own research and make your own choices. Personally, I'd rather pay full retail and buy from B&H and have piece of mind.

| Most of the low price stores on the net get you to order, then you have to call and confirm your order and they say your item is backordered if you don't buy whatever else they want to sell you. I tried AM Photo, and a couple more before I decided that BH was the best company to buy from with Adorama coming in as a close second (they sometimes try to sell add ons). AM told me the reason BH has a good reputation is because they don't have as many customers. haha. They also told me that their cameras came to them without a 1 year warranty. The only way for that to happen is if they are stolen. Sigma has a warranty on all their cameras. |

I found the Genius website this morning while looking to purchase a Canon 20D. The price seemed too good to be true, so i thought i'd check the forums. I found this thread to be interesting:
DPChallenge Thread
I turns out that Express Cameras has the same store location/address as Genius Cameras:
Genius address
1090 King Georges Post Road.
Suite 305
Edison, NJ 08837
As Genius doesn't have as many reviews as Express, you might want to read Express Reviews.
I'm not sure how many other different names this company runs by, but the reviews i read about Express will keep me away from them for good.
As I'm still looking for a new 20D, does anyone know of a reputable dealer that will charge you a better price than $1500 or would it be worth waiting till after Christmas?

I checked buydig and theirs is 1498. That site seems to discount just before everyone else, so I'd say that's the best price outside of ebay right now.

If you're looking for a good deal on a 20D, why don't you check out Fred Miranda's 'buy and sell' board.
