Greetings...
Several people here recently were looking for / asking about GPS units. I have my old one up for auction on Ebay if anyone is interested in taking a look at it...

I'd like one that will upload gathered data to a GIS. Can this one do that? I've waded through some info on-line but have never really found what I'm looking for.

I don't know what GIS is. This unit will upload collected data to the MapSource program though.

Geographical Information System...mapping software. If it uploads data at all I'd likely be able to use it, though. Thanks. Hmm...I'll think about it ;).

The Legend can upload and download info, store maps (topo and street), points of interest (restauraunts, hotels, hiway exits,more). New it is about $169 w/ the serial cable. works very well.
You can use the Garmin software ($116) which lets you put maps into the unit, or just for uploading and downloading there are several apps avaialable on the web, some free some cheap. GSAK is the best and costs $20 but has a trial period. |
