Obstructionby seeComment: The scene by itself is not enough to make a truly great photograph. Even a landscape needs some type of subject to give the eye a place to land. This is an easy trap to fall into especially if surrounded by scenery as nice as this.

In Search of Foodby bryantbusComment: I have never gone back through with such a critical eye and reevaluated photos submitted in a challenge before. However because of what I consider to be the controversial nature of this rules set I am doing this now. My first time through I was willing to give you the benefit of a doubt on this extremely lucky capture of an eagle flying through a beautiful scene. The more I look at it though, the more it appears that the bird was added after the fact. The lighting around the bird doesn't match the rest of the sky and gives it a highlighted appearance. This may be a very good job of visual trickery, but visual trickery it is and therefore I am forced to reduce your score to one that is more fitting with the spirit of the rules...

Gatesby EliaslewinskyComment: This is a bit busy and doesn't have enough of a subject to hold the eye. From the title I deduce that the gates are supposed to be the subject but by their transparent nature they don't really fill the role...

Cold and frostyby RUEDISCHMUTZComment: This is atually quite nicely done. Love the tonality of the cold foggy air. Nothing quite like that. However, This shot just seems to need a little something that would take it from very nice to the 'wow' factor. Maybe someone walking up the path. Don't know what it is but it just needs that one little boost.

Alaska: Beautiful Harshnessby EmerkazaComment: THis is another shot that makes me wonder if you used HDR. You have some great detail in the foreground but the sky is not overly saturated or blown out. I do think that you have a little too much blue in your snow but (being a Michigander) appreciate how hard it is to shoot snow in shadows without that effect.

Terrorby idnicComment: I don't know why but I'm not convinced. It looks a little staged to me. I do think that a little more dramatic contrasting (spelled more shadows) would help to give the shot a little 'sell'...
