Feeding Frenzyby sherComment: I got to admit that this shot has a lot of action, a lot of color, a lot of texture... It's not a very interesting thing to look at though...

Shades of Morningby newtune3Comment: I love these types of shots. Great subtleties in the sky colors and background. Love the silhouette! Only wish you'd have gotten all the tree in shot...

Nature's Eleganceby RefractedComment: Focus appears to be a little TOO soft here. A touch more lighting or a boost in levels would help to bring out the shadows more also. Nice composition!

Beee-utifulby trainComment: Looks a little underexposed...Especially around the insect itself. Flower looks good, but the white is a little dull.

Silver Liningby jab119Comment: Very cool effect here! I can't wait to see how much PS you had to do to achieve this.

Love in Redby RoosterComment: I'm sorry, call me old school, but I don't care for nose rings... Not a bad shot overall, but don't care for the selective desaturation. I don't think that it has a real effect here. Also your border is not even all around.

A whole life aheadby Harz_JoergComment: This is a very nice use of DOF and composition. I'm not sure I like the crop, but it is effective! The only thing I would change within this crop is the reflection in the eye is a bit much. Overall: an excellent portrait without using standard portrait techniques!

PS: Did you work this one up as B/W or two tone? You have an awesome depth of color tones to play around with. I would love to see this after the challenge if you have done it, or have permission to do it up myself!!!

Pinkby picperficComment: Very nice use of soft focus! Something doesn't seem quite right here compositionally though and I can't put my finger on it. It maybe the straight on angle of the shot or the constraining crop... I'm gonna come back to this one and if I figure out what it is I'll adjust this note!

Leftoversby casualguyComment: The leaf looks a little bit staged, but this is the best detail I've seen in snow yet...

Reflectionby TerryGeeComment: From the Critique Club
Terry, once again I get the pleasure of critiquing one of your shots!
Photograph: This is a very nice shot of the bird. It's very easy to take a shot of a duck. It's not so easy to get a nice shot of a duck as well composed, going right where you want it, with the focus right on, and with such a nice reflection. Great detail in the feathers too! My only complaint (and it's a personal preference) is the shallow DOF. In this case your choice is probably better than mine would be. You have in focus all the detail you need for your message. I just happen to love the detail in the ripples in a large body of water.
Poster: You have a beautiful message and do a wonderful job of conveying it, both in photo and in text. I love the border that you chose here! Your choice of font color however is too close to some of the colors inherent in the waters reflections. This makes the text on the right side a little hard to read.
Overall: A very nice job of taking a message and presenting it in a poster type format!
Kudos
