Coffee, BLACK...by tfarrell23Comment: I believe that this has gone past the point of photographic integrity and therefore I can not within the guidelines of the rule score it very highly...

Seeing Blackby lilnukeeComment: A very difficult exposure and IMHO you missed it by just a touch. Beautiful eyes and great composition, but you need just the ever slightest more detail in the fur (or less perhaps)

Teapotby maelmsComment: First a question, is the pot actually black or are you working on the silhoette effect? Now my comment. Just the ever slightest amount of fill light to bring in just a smidge of detail at the top of the pot and this is spot on still life!

Can You Find Me?by kim100878Comment: Now this is dark. I pride myself on having a monitor that is calibrated for dark shots but I can not make this out at all. This makes me wonder how many comments you are getting about this issue....

Sleeping Beautyby agwrightComment: Very nice shot. A touch overexposed in a couple of spots but not obnoxiously so. You managed to capture the detail nicely. I would like to see this exposed one stop less just to see if the detail is still there! At the very least a great study subject.

Left behind.by GeocideComment: This is an amazing shot that I'm sorry to say is probably getting too many comments of it's too dark or no comments at all. I love the minimalism of this while still being able to see the subject. I won't comment on the political statement of the title, but the shot does manage to give the feeling of the title!
Very nice shot! One of my favorites of the challenge!

Leavingby e301Comment: From the Critique Club
This is one of those shots that I can not just sit down and write up a critique for. Each time I look at it I pick up a little more than the last time. I see another subtle nuance. This, to me, is a sign of a very good, if not great, piece!
My very first impression was that this was overly sharp and too contrasty. After a moment I realized that you have attained an almost surreal feeling with this combination. My next thought was that the darks are too dark and the highlights are too light, but again after a moment I realize that this all combines to give the overall feeling of moving from the here and now to the beyond.
Your foreground is very crisp and clear. The horizontal lines of the brick path give it a very 'base' feel, like a starting point. The rest of the lines lead your eye up and over the bridge into the unknown. You've accentuated this feeling with the very dark background and the very light lines of the bridge. This gives the bridge a feeling of a transition from the base or now into the unknown and shady future.
All in all a very compelling photo which implies a story. You don't know the details of the story, but you know that there is a change in it.
Kudos on this!

Control Freakby spydrComment: Great minds think alike? I almost did the PS2 controller. Nice composition (a little busy maybe) and a darker background (though harder to shoot) would make for some nice shadings!

chocolateby falveyComment: Too busy, Can't tell if it's in focus or not (leaning toward not) and what the heck is the purple thing in the middle? Oh and are the green things nuts? Not sure I wanna know.
