This looks like a great shot to remember being in a place. Or in other words a tourist shot. However, as a portrait (especially a studio one) it has a couple of issues. The first one is the fact that many parts of it are very blown out. This due to the harsh lighting at the time of day that you shot it. In a studio this wouldn't be an issue as you would have control of the lighting. It is also very busy for a portrait. The background is supposed to lead you back to the person. This background is (almost) more interesting than the true subject of the shot. Lastly, the reflections in her glasses are distracting and do not add to the shot.

Very nice use of natural light to give this shot great depth and tone! Lovely bride! Great soft focus effect to make her glow even more on her big day! A touch more catch light in her eye and this would be nearly perfect!

Beautiful baby boy and an awesome use of catch light to get the twinkle in his eye! Did you PS the vignette effect or was it a spot type light creating this effect? I'm not sure I like it, but it's not too distracting. I did notice that it is a touch flat and dull. If you move your lights to one side more (rather than so direct in front) you'll get more depth. The dull part is either a need for more lights or a bit of tweaking in PS with the levels.

Good creative use of lighting. You do have some purplish cast in the shadows of her face though. Not sure what caused this. A white poster board reflector on that side would help with this I believe. I love that you managed to get the catch light in her eyes. Very important in a portrait. My biggest complaint with this shot though is that her outfit and the background kind of blend together. THis makes her look like a floating head which is not as pleasant an image as she deserves.

IMHO this looks more like a snapshot (edited to look like a portrait) than a true portrait. I don't have a problem with the boy posing with the dog. Your lighting is very unimaginative. If you used a couple of lamps and moved them off to one side you would end up with a shot with more depth. What happened to the background?

I have no problem with a dog as a subject for a portrait, in fact in some areas you can make AWESOME money doing pet portraits. You have a beautiful dog here. However, the shot doesn't quite do him justice. First off, it's a little cluttered. There are too many elements and most of them don't really add too much. The next thing (and probably most important) is the unimaginative lighting. This looks dull and flat. Moving more of the lights to one side or another would help give it depth. More lights would help with the colors (as well as boosting the levels in PS). You also managed to crop (either in editing or in camera) off his leg which to me is a little distracting.
