Hostageby BeagleboyComment: Not what I would normally consider a portrait, but what I'm hoping was done in a studio and not for real. Nice lighitng, interesting composition and use of negative space make this a nice image to look at!

Janetby redmoonComment: At first I didn't care for the high key treatment of this shots subject. However, the more I look at it the more I appreciate the more interesting crop and composition that you used here! The skin tones are just a touch overexposed losing the definition on the left side of her nose. Beautiful catch lights and nice hair lighting!

Gizelleby MalokataComment: Very warm tones. Background and her skin tones compliment each other nicely. The lighting is a touch dark for MY taste, but still very well done. You have a nice sense of depth and you captured the folds in her blouse nicely!

Dreamerby NazgulComment: I like the simple subtle subdued lighting in this shot. Good job of matching the background with her eyes. Could use a touch more catchlight in her eyes and maybe a touch of hairlight. Nice shot overall.

Amyby sagestudioComment: A l.ovely young lady in a nice pose! The lighting here seems to be to concentrated from above. If you had a touch more sidelighting, it would give more depth to her face and might help with the blown out part of her shirt. Nice background and background lighting!

Forty-Nineby charmayneComment: Very nicely composed and light. Love the tonality here. Your choice of background goes very well with her skin tones. THe only thing that I find distracting is her pose. The fact that you can barely see her right eye makes this shot seem off somehow. I think it would benefit from either full profile (only seeing one eye) or even better a three quarters profile (almost like you have here, but you can see both eyes.)

My Brother Bobby indianzfanComment: Looking at the knowing half grin and the very noisy shirt, I would have to guess that Bob is a trouble maker or at least a character! (just kidding, I'm sure he's a very nice. fun guy!) This shot seems to give off a feeling of what kind of person he is! Lighting does the job, and gives the shot depth. Could stand to have some catchlight in the eyes though. Haven't quite figured out how to do this myself...

Daydreamby labudsComment: Very day-dreamy pose. You broke the rule about nostrils though. Lighting does a decent job of giving depth to the shot, but is a touch dull as are the colors. The background is a touch distracting IMHO and could stand to be not lit so much or toned down a bit in PS.

A Penny For Your Thoughtsby BooZonComment: Very nicely composed/posed and framed. Your lighting gives a nice sense of depth, but is a little dull. Colors also are a bit dull. Crop wise, I am a tad bit distracted by the watch dial being cut off at the bottom. Also I would have cloned out the tops of the letters on his shirt. Nice job overall!

Edited to add: Could definately benefit from catch light in his eyes. |
