Home Gym- A Champ's Humble Beginning

I like the sharpness of the hand and the narrow depth of field, but even a narrow depth of field can't help that competing background. This would have been a more striking image if it had a plainer background, yet something that still conveys that it's a home gym (such as a lamp?)

I gave this a 6 during voting. To me, it's a "pretty" scene, but doesn't really have enough to hold my attention. The composition seems too centered for me. Centered horizon, nearly centered lighthouse, and not much going on in the sky. I do like how you've captured the spray coming off of the waves.

to me, the small strip of sky and trees over the hill (at the top of the frame) looks out of place. I think that it might look better had it been cropped out.
