Subtle, Loving, Smiling.by michaelmonnComment: @ Jedusi : i know what you mean about the bed. its more obviously a bed when the photo is in its original horizontal orientation. the brightness of it is potentially distracting and would have been better off thought of ahead of time. |

Subtle, Loving, Smiling.by michaelmonnComment: WOW! my first award at DPC. thanks so much Prash! it means a lot to me when my pictures can be meaningful to other people, especially when they are photographers who i respect (the people here on DPC). thank you, and i'm really glad that you liked the shot. this kind of recognition is a tangible reminder that i actually am progressing as a photographer. slowly but surely

cameras 101by briantammyComment: i voted this photo much higher. although it is "just a camera" it really strikes me as a portrait rather than a product shot. the tones and the reflection in the lens is what did it for me. good job. |

Color in my lifeby jeeptuningComment: i gave this shot a 7. i think it should have done MUCH better. i think that the flaw in the photo is the the car is in color while the people arent. voters that take 2 seconds to look at the photo would think that the car is the "color in your life" that youre referring to. on the other hand i think its the young boy. if the people were in color more voter would have seen this wonderful moment what was captured forever; a hidden gem.

Conformationby pointandshootComment: i really loved this shot. IMO it should have done WAY better. this is the perfect example of a great shot that isnt "DPC friendly". lame. i think its beautiful. |

Archangelby RaptorsbehindyouComment: wow. i am BEYOND surprised. this is the only image in the challenge that i gave a 10. i absolutely LOVE this shot and although i think that the technique could be improved upon, it really is something creative and emotive. great shot.

Kinda shyby MelethiaComment: i love the tones you got on this, by erring on the side of sharpness and texture you brought out the personality of the petals themselves rather than writing them off as objects meant to look soft and uniform; textureless. the title fits it perfectly as well :) |

Curlby MelethiaComment: i changed my mind. this is my favorite picture of yours! the olive tones in this are so great! it sings of cold, winter withering. as if you are zooming in focusing to capture this leafs last breath. |

Crossed legsby MelethiaComment: i really love this faceless expression of casually waiting. my mind almost fills in the rest of the picture: a business man, middle aged, clean shaven with mid length peppery hair, covered mostly by his wallstreet-esque fedora, copy of german equivalent of NY times obscuring most of his face. waiting patiently as he has done for years. the train comes without fail. |
