This is technically a good shot. It's just not, well, exciting.

Focus and lighting are good. Composition good, I might suggest cropping up to the top of the cutting board. Loose the dark edge.

A little light, reflected or otherwise, on the center of the bread would help bring out more detail there.

Additional light on the wine, either from behind or above could also make that look more interesting. Now it's just dark, not inviting.

The backdrop is too many shades of red/orange. If that was a more uniform red w/dark shadows I think it may help.

I hope this helps, and of course, it is just my opinion.

This is a great shot. I'm really having to search for things to say.
I'm going to assume the part on the faucet, bottom left, is due as much to resampling as anything?

It's just a bit pixelated/grainy. With the rest of the photo so smooth and seamless it stands out as the one not perfect part of this shot.

Excellent colour choices, composition, and execution.

Hmmm, this is an excellent image.
I think the soft look definitely works for a baby portrait.

I'm not sure about the crop at the top. Would have to see the entire image to be sure.

I'm trying to find something, anything to suggest. How about using a different blanket behind him? One with no stripes and a complimentary colour.
