got back desaturatedby outafocusComment: Hi again,
I still like this photo, although I don't think the full desaturation helped it much. When I mentioned saturation issue, I was assuming the original photo had already been desaturated, but not turned to B&W. I recall the first commenter mentioned that you needed more light and in retrospect, I suspect the light was responsible for both the color case and the "low saturation".
I feel this version of the picture could use some added contrast and, perhaps, either leave the boarder white, as in the original, or make it black. My personal preference is for higher contrast images; We all have preferences.
In any event... this photo still pulls me to it. Sorry for going on and on. |

Kyana42.jpgby KronusComment: Great shot. I like the models curious expression... sort of aloof, but appreciative of the attention of the viewer... sort of a Mona Lisa smile in profile. I might suggest a little more depth of field to keep the hair on the back of her head in focus. There is a quite bright area of the background just under the model's chin that is a little unfortunate. The defocused background is nicely done. |

got backby outafocusComment: I really like this photo. It is the sort of image I have tried to make and, lacking both the model and talent, have never come close. With that advisory, I will go ahead and offer a few observations and comments.
I like the mirror arrangement giving us an interesting vantage point. I don't know about the low saturation of the photo. It is neither black&white nor color. I think fully desaturating the image might have helped it a bit; or leave it in color. (I took a look at the channels, and I believe the blue channel gives quite a nice contrast.) If you choose to leave it desaturated, I would have preferred it not have the blue color cast.
The model is lovely with a beautiful smile, but I do agree with the previous comment that if she were less engaged with the photographer, it would have made a better picture. An alternative to being more or less oblivious to the photographer, you might consider having her give a considerably more come hither look.
All in all, I find this a very engaging photo. I will look forward to more from you... and her. |

Smallest Clock on a Needleby danielcheong1974Comment: I still love this photo. I am still a bit confused how you managed to keep the drop spherical. It seems the gravity would have pulled it to be ... hum ... drop shaped. I will have to try this.
Great shot!

Lostby Ice-LadyComment: Pretty girl, great shot. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought the model was walking into the sunset. I wonder if you took one like that? Anyway you could have tweaked up the cloud definition?
In any event, I love the shot. |

Ejectaby JMartComment: Absolutely great shot. Not really a macro shot, but amazing in every other way. As a general entry, I would give it a 10. |

The Kindergarten Teacherby scarbrdComment: Love the shot. How did you manage to keep the kids from knocking over your camera setup. My wife is a 1st - 4th grade teacher. I have seen this sort of classroom myself.
You should send this to your local or national teachers union. I am sure they could find a good use for it. |

Little Sisterby JutildaComment: Great shot, focused at the right spot... wonderful bokeh. I don't understand the almost undetectable frame line. Just a question... is the foreground petal in focus? I can't tell if it is out of focus or plant fuzz. |
