This one was difficult for me. I really like that he is working. Doing what he does, in his environment. The concentration in his face is great. My problem is a subset of the fact that he is working, which is sort of the point of this challenge, imo. The fact that his hands and arms show movement right up in the foreground is sort of like seeing two different shots combined into one. The big question, do I discount what you've done because what you've done is follow the challenge? Tough, huh?! Now you see my problem...

This is stunning on many levels. Not the least being the facial expressions of both of your subjects. Thank you.

I just don't get this shot, no reason. Art speaks differently to different people.

You know, this one took me awhile. Without the benefit of the title, I would assume that this was a bento ad. The focus is on the bowl of food, which is great if this were a bento ad. But in an environmental portrait, the food is not the best subject. The environment does not define the food and the food is not interacting with the environment. This is a WiFi spot, but you only show about 3 inches of the computer keyboard. The girl is obviously intrested in something and is on a lunch/dinner break, but since she is out of the dof I find it frustrating to view this shot in this challenge.

I saw your forum posting that this accidently went into the wrong challenge. But in all reality, this challenge doesn't specifically say that your subject has to human or animal. For this challenge, I would have liked to see more of the struggle to survive. Widen the shot and let us see the enviornment that this poor tree lives in.

The angle matches the frantic yell of your subject. You've communicated his frustration with the way you presented this shot.

I think you captured the subject well. Nice expression on the face and the eyes. My only problem is that I cannot really tell the story behind the picture. How does the L define your subject? How is she interacting with the environment? The only thing I get is a pretty girl waiting for a train. Is she going shopping? To work? I won't go as far as to say that this DNMC, because you obviously know the answers to my questions or you wouldn't have taken this shot. :)

I find this to be too grainy and noisy. But, it is sort of an editorial slant on this challenge, so perhaps that was your intent...
