The Criminal Elementby total_noviceComment: Other than a disdainful evil look, dark shading and a hoody, how does this picture communicate a criminal? He could just be angry or frustrated or generally any other antisocial teen filled with angst. The environment is what is missing here. Imagine this face in an urban environment surrounded by other such faces, then you would have communicated "the criminal element." However, that being said, this shot does have something tantalizing and hypnotic in it. |

Chefby litboltiComment: I'm having a hard time sensing the focal point here. It seems like the thumb on the wine bottle is the only thing sharply defined here. Could be my eyes, so I wouldn't take it as anything other than an observation. |

Did I Win ?by DavidComment: Well done. Were there any other swimmers in the pool? This is one of those times when a wider shot might OR might NOT be better. Hard to imagine what others in the frame would add. |

in the teenage environmentby smardazComment: I like the story here. One question, how is it that this teen's room is clean? I have a pre-teen that lives in a constant state of "explosion." |

The Contractorby HeiSchComment: Would love to see more of his truck or his tools. Perhaps actually working. Nice shot, though. |

Proud little gardenerby joynimComment: Without the title, this is a nice shot of a cute girl with flowers. A bit more of the "environment" (garden) would help communicate that she was responsible for the little plot of land. Maybe even some shears or a spade, something that would give you action. |

Beachcomberby JuliBocComment: The sun didn't help you here. You lose a lot of facial personality due to the squint. |

Changing the Guardby facesastheycomeComment: Not sure why this seems off to me. Composition seems good, coloring seems good, focus could be a weensy bit better, but not off enough to be obvious. I think that what happened here is that the arch in the back suggests framing that could not be achieved with live people doing their thing. It's not like they would pose for a general person with a camera. |
