Kickboxing instructorby DeniseComment: This is a nice portrait but she doesn't seem to be interacting with her environment. the punch on the bag clearly isn't a real punch and because she's looking away from the bag it just looks like a side note.
I'm also not fond of the shadow on the wall. Ideally I would like to have seen her interacting with the equipment more or even better a student and with more of the gym in the background. |

Dr.Gutierrezby gastonComment: The harsh light on his shirt distracts from his face but I guess you had little control over lighting. |

Late Nightsby zaflaboutComment: I don't know what it is maybe all the hair but this it almost like he was drawn. Even the texture of his shirt seems unusual.
Dont get me wrong I think this is a good thing and makes it an interesting shot, I'd be interested to know how you achieved this. I kinda wish you'd dusted that lamp though....probably just the clean freak in me speaking out. And the title bugs me as its well lit and doesn't have the feel of a late night. |

The Butcherby IraklisComment: Love this the lighting and tone remind me of delicatessen. Perfect picture for the challenge. |

9by hannekeComment: Wow this is such an unusual effect, I really like it. The texture is so odd I'm left dying to touch it to find out what it feels like. |

Beneath the tideby SouthCoastOr3gonComment: Normally I'd say this image looks a bit flat but I think the lack of pop gives it a more grubby polluted edge.
My eye was drawn right to the sky rather than the foreground but short of cropping most the sky out I don't know how this could have been avoided. Incidentally when I did that with my hands I found the picture more interesting. |
