Elusiveby LalliSigComment: Beautiful shot. Congratulations!
I actually prefer your shot to the original one that inspired you. I much prefer your composition with just one breast and leg, I find the lines more visually appealing and wow that eye is dramatic. |

Age of Innocenceby markie1006Comment: Been too busy at work to spend time here. :(
I agree with everyone's comments, it was way more blown out than I would have liked. Unfortunately my son had a really bad cold and his face was extremely blotchy at the time (as you an see by the rough skin around his nose), and it was the only way to make it even halfway acceptable.
Thanks.

Hudson Powerhouseby markie1006Comment: Originally posted by glencoppersmith: What is the toxic green leaking down from above? I sure hope it's just a mis-step with your levels, because otherwise the Hudson must be getting dirtier than even when I lived there! |
Weird, no levels were adjusted for this. All I did was resize and usm (I didn't even need to crop it).
Basically the building itself looks like it used to be covered in a lot of soot from when the area used to be filled with factories bilging out smoke. Since then a lot of it has got washed away with time, leaving lots of interesting patterns in the brickwork.
I think the green flecks are just moss and grasses growing through the brickwork (that is the only green I see).
It was taken pretty early in the morning (around 8am I think) with very bright sun low in the sky to try and maximize it's features. |

Fire Damageby Dirt_DiverComment: What a great scene, lots of depth and texture. Very visually interesting. I do find the windows just a little over bright and distracting though. |

Mangleby xianartComment: I like the composition and angle of the light, however I find the image a little too dark and feel that some of the detail and texture is lost. |

echoes of the pastby tateComment: I love the texture and grittiness of the stairs and peeling paintwork, but I find the brightness of the windows distracting. |

Smokestacksby markie1006Comment: Thank you for the kind feedback everyone.
I live pretty close to this building and seeing it every day, I've been dying to photograph it for ages.
It is such a shame to see it being left to crumble. |
