I came across the first use of the Matryoshka dolls in a David Ogilvy piece where it was stated that the dolls were used by Ogilvy to convey a powerful message to his managers contained in a slip of paper inside the last doll - if you hire someone less capable than you, this is what you will end up with.

I like the mix of colors. Also the bokeh effect of the reflection of the rock contrats nicely with deep DOF of the rocks in the composition. Kinda rocks!

Yes it does not seem to add anything to the composition but, IMO, it does not distract the viewer either. Of course I am a self confessed poor observer with no eye for detail :)
