Darn, why didn't I think of that? I was going though tea-light and ice combinations in my mind's eye... but you've done a much better job than I would have done! The black background is great, and you have successfully managed to avoid the usual noise that a photo like this in low light would typically generate. My one criticism is that I don't like the colour of the ice here... it looks a bit dirty yellow, perhaps a colour balance on the highlights might have done the trick (perhaps a slight shift to blue), or perhaps a bit of desaturation on yellow. 8

My favourite this challenge, the sepia tones work well. You have communicated the heat very well, this picture has a lot of character. I'm not sure about the cropping at the top... too many items seem to have been cut in half. The fan works very well though. Nicely exposed. Great legs! 9

Wow, he looks drunk! Great spontaneous shot, it's a shame the background is so cluttered. I would have liked to see this guy as a silhouette with nothing behind him. Shame about the colour cast as well... did you set the white balance for this one? 6

Nice idea, unfortunately I don't think they look very romantic. Not one of the more passionate kisses I've ever seen... The water in the background works well, but I think the building detracts from the composition. I don't like the yellow colour cast, I'd have amended this in Photoshop. Almost! 6

HM - Unpleasant Answer

Really unpleasant photo... I'm sure I won't be the first to say so. As a photo... the focus isn't very sharp, and it could do with a levels adjustment in Photoshop, there doesn't seem to be enough tonal contrast. Don't like the shadow running mid-way across. The top half of the photo looks carelessly composed. I don't like the way the pavement cuts the picture in half. 3

Very striking image, nice skin tones, good detail. Black and white works well here, the white background is very effective. Their expressions really heighten the mild paranoia!
