This reminds me of Setzler's foliage pic. There, he used the tip of the leaf to add some compositional interest. This is too uniform in composition for my taste. Your diagonal is also a bit too centred, lessening any interest to be found in the composition. Nonetheless, I really like this shot, some great colours and textures. Nicely lit. 9

Superb shot, I love the texture and detail on the wings. Shame about the occasional burnt out highlight, and the shadow detracts from the subject a little. Nice composition and crop. Perhaps could do with a little more saturation and sharpening. Very nice dof. 9

The harsh lighting is very effective here, and enhances the texture of your subject. Also very nice texture captured in the silk strand he's hanging from. Colour has been captured nicely given the harsh lighting. Good crop. 9

Nice shot... perhaps just a tad overexposed. Shame the dof didn't extend to the rear of your subject. Perhaps a little more saturation as well would have been good. Very effective insect macro though, nicely blurred background. 9

Yellow on Yellow

Wow! Love the eyes and antennae. The dominance of yellow in the shot is very effective. I'd have liked just a little more dof on the bee while keeping the flower blurred. Not entirely sure about the just-off-centre placement, I'd have liked it more off centre. 9

Butterfly Kiss

Very nice butterfly shot. I feel that the composition lets it down a little... the eyes are the focus for me and they are too centred in the frame for my liking. I'm also not sure about the proportion of bark in the shot. Other than that, brilliant! I really love the proboscis, that's what makes this shot so effective. Nice dappled background, although I'm not sure there is enough contrast between this and the subject. 9
