Beautiful simple landscape. However, I don't think this scene lends itself to soft focus - although the landscape effect is soft and subtle.

I like the effect. However, I feel like the photo leans to the left. I can see that the far chimney lines up vertically but the average vertical line leans to the left. In this case, I would probably try different slight rotations until the photo "feels" right. The photo would work better for me if there was some area of higher focus, but I guess that is the challenge of soft focus.

I've tried to figure out what bothers me about this one. The angle is good, the track s shape is interesting. The smoke is nice ( although I'd like to see more of it ). I think the problem for me is that the photo seems slightly blurred. To me the photo should either be tack sharp or shot with a slow shutter speed to show motion in the train. This photo seems to be somewhere in between and just doesn't have impact in my opinion.
