Ouch! I'm not fond of the camera angle. This certainly meets the challenge in an interesting way.

Very nice. I just got through recommending to the other person that entered one like this to try looking down on the subject. A little more contrast and more interesting background might help this shot. It conveys the challenge very well. Nice job!

Very funny. I wish you had used a sexier peanut ;) The few holes where the backlighting is uninterrupted are a bit distracting. Overall very affective. So, did you get that peanut by eating the rest of an m&m or did you have an unadulterated peanut supply at your disposal?

Great idea. I think I would have tried to have only one person (actually alone) in the shot to emphasize the spirit of this challenge. Also I might have cropped in closer for a stronger juxtaposition of the person & the city.

Fun interpretation. The black background blends in undesireable ways with the black in the animals & leggings for me. With the black, I might have pulled the snake around enough to keep it's face from dissappearing. Also, the girls left foot looks creepily detached :) I love the expression you caught on her. How long were you able to keep her posing happily amongst the animals for you? Well done.

This is the technique I was going to use if I had time to enter this challenge. I think the subject would look more alone if she was not looking at the camera. I wonder what it would look like to use this concept looking down on the model (like looking down on her in a mall lobby or an airport from the the next floor above). Nice job. I was hoping to see a picture like yours.

Very poignant & insightful interpretation of the challenge. I would prefer to see the stone the veteran is facing and peraps place him back further amongst the stones. Perhaps you were trying to assure his cap was legible, but I think the context (particularly with the title) is easy to understand. Thanks for a very thought provoking entry.

This is great! Looking across it is like turing the focus ring; It feels really good to get to that foreground glass.

Ah yes, this scored much higher than I expected. I inadvisably left the orange foreground flower in because I had been reading the thread challenging people to include foreground bokeh also. It's easy to crop for my own purposes but I do wish I had cut it out for the challenge.

Thanks for the fore-giving votes. he-he

Yippee! I'm glad to get closer to the -6- range. Thanks to posthumous for noting that the flare is an important symbol. I was also thinking of the light as a temptation. Sometimes we are drawn to that glorious/bright path when the better choice might be less well illuminated & clear.

I also intend to follow up on many of the suggestions regarding font, lighting and techo's idea to try keeping it in color. I am going to print this one for my classroom, so I want to refine it some more.

Thanks All.
