Red Wiggler Wormby JMartComment: Originally posted by agrimace: Why do you import worms for the compost pile? Nice shot. |
The worms (red wigglers) are specialized for the paper and food waste we want to compost. The dew-worms, ordinary worms from the soil, are not good for composting. Since the red wigglers are only common in places like manuer and composting piles it's just easier to have some sent to us to jump start the compost pile.

Day 19 - Slinkyby kteachComment: That's a really cool perspective on the slinky! I love the gradual shift in texture from the slinky in concert with DOF. |

Day 19.jpgby ZeppKashComment: Wow, the only thing missing is someone sucking on the other end to get some glow & smoke. Nice capture. Love the colors and detail. |

earthwormby ShutterPugComment: I think you should win an award and it should be called the Close & Gross Award. Wonderful captures of this rather large specimen with fantastic DOF & sharpness. |

from the backsideby ShutterPugComment: OK, you have WAY too many spiders. There's some funny distortion perhaps from the container, but it's still very effective. Fascinating patterns and those long legs are very creepy. |

Spidieby ShutterPugComment: Classic spider shot with the eyes & hair. Tricky DOF and you placed it just right. |

grindby ShutterPugComment: WOw I love the background and the detail is simply amazing. Using a 2.8 aperture I'm impressed that the DOF doesn't feel too narrow. Great capture. |
