Worms for the compost pile just arrived. This is one. Perhaps I should have given it a shower, but this is more natural :)

Like the way this little guy wiggles through the shot on the diagonal. You're right, the dirt gives him a more natural feel!

A worm is a worm, never seen a clean one. To be honest, never seen one on a clean background. Looks a little unnatural. I support your composting idea. All our natural stuff is eaten by all kind of dirty looking creatures, but they're doing a great job!

The worms (red wigglers) are specialized for the paper and food waste we want to compost. The dew-worms, ordinary worms from the soil, are not good for composting. Since the red wigglers are only common in places like manuer and composting piles it's just easier to have some sent to us to jump start the compost pile.

The white paper towel was a good choice for BG because of the light reflected back into the subject. Is there something special about this worm that would make it worthwhile to relocate it to your compost pile, or do you live somewhere that has few or no worms in the ground?
I also like the dirt particles on it to give more interest to the shot.
Let's go fishing!

Gotta love worms. My turtle sure does. ;)

Nice shot - good detail. I like the dirt on him/her too.
