Surrey with a fringe on topby IreneMComment: Congratuations on another fun addition to your drop collection. A good drop shot is like a good sunset; we've all seen them done many times, but each one's different and when they're captured well... Well, I'll never get tired of seeing these shots. |

Colour Portraitby IreneMComment: Congratulations Irene! This just goes to show that a great photo doesn't really need to meet the challenge. |

Naturalby LMA128Comment: I was just scrolling through the 'curves' results and your image seems a bit misplaced as it's fairly under rated IMHO. This is such a fine macro with thoughtful composition, great texture, and sharpness that shows off the veins & little droplets and the curves going in to the interior. Lighting for some of the outer petals may be a touch harsh, but not in a way that detracts terribly from the overall effect you've accomplished. Keep up the great shooting even if it is under appreciated sometimes. |

Abbylicious !by SandyPComment: Wow! This scene is so iconic of childhood bliss. It seems like you captured a perfect moment and I'll bet little Abby will really appreciate this shot when she gets older. |

The Golden Age of Rosesby kleskiComment: I really liked this one and I ended up giving it a 6. My favorite part about it is the composition along with an interesting subject. On the down side, the sky has some posterization and it feels a little flat to me. I wonder if this would pop a little better with the saturation pushed up along with a slight lightness increase and a light to medium contrast curve. I think the average quick-click (or key-stroke) voter may be more negatively impacted by too little than too much in areas like that.
Of course, this is all just my humble opinion. You really did take a nice photo here. |

from aboveby dorfComment: This is one of my top three favorites in this challenge and I actually expected to see it a lot higher to be honest. Congratulations and I look forward to seeing your future work. |

One of manyby gysComment: This is very under rated IMHO. The pattern is unmistakable and the composition is what really sells me on this shot. This is such a textbook example of the rule of thirds. You might want to try using curves to add medium-strong contrast on this and perhaps a little more saturation to make it really pop. Still, I really can't understand why so many people voted below 5 unless there are just that many that don't understand what a pattern is.
Nice shot. Much better than the voters gave it. |

Sea Shell Patternsby bobonacusComment: This was a great choice for this challenge. Just echoing what KarenNfld said, I would bet that putting a medium or high contrast curve on this with slightly increased saturation would really make this pop. Awesome patterns overall. |
