Country Cliche by Girl from OZComment: Like this photo a lot; I think it had a lot of potential. Just wish the foreground wasn't so underexposed to give some "detail" to the wood! Nice composition. |

Sattleby zeranicoComment: Nice capture of the saddle and the use of B&W; the out-of-focus object in the lower left is distracting though. |

A Place In The Woodsby AlexanderComment: Potentially good subject matter for this challenge. Unfortunately the picture seems over-sharpened; the trees don't look as "natural" to me as they could. |

horse farmby jbolingComment: First, potentially good subject matter for this challenge. Let me give a couple quick critiques that may help in the future. In a shot like this it is very important to have the horizon straight. The camera appears to be tilted toward the right. Second, the picture seems "soft". I'm not sure if this is a result of down-sizing for the web or not, but it is something to watch for. Finally, if there is any way to get the image to the maximum allowable DPC dimension (640), definitely try and do so! Keep shootin'! |

What We Grow Hereby kyrielleComment: There are a lot of JPEG artificats in the image -- I checked, and it is only 32K. This is far from the 150K maximum allowed by DPC. I think having a "crispier" image would have helped somewhat. Unfortunately, the power lines really detract from the "country" feeling. Keep shootin' though! |

Dusty Roads by SonifoComment: Great capture. Love the feeling it gives the viewer. Glad you refrained from using a border -- works very well on its own. |

On the Farmby agwrightComment: Nice image! Nice big depth-of-field to keep the foreground and background objects in focus, which I think works well in this photo. The lighting wasn't the greatest for the tractor from this angle though -- a little fill flash on your camera might have helped a lot in that regard. Overall though I like it. |
