white misteryby cyparisComment: Maybe one of those popcorn wafer snacks? Would be interesting to see with side lighting to bring out the texture more. |

Sick Sixby cloudsmeComment: Pleasing abstract. Am enjoying the uncommon color combinations. |

Sparkleby JuliBocComment: Looks like a diamond-grain sharpening stone with thin red transpaent (plastic?) film over part of it. |

Match heads?by davidwComment: Reminds me of hair brush bristles; interestig that the specular highlights give a sensation of little faces to them. |

Close Callby hesitantComment: Suspect rotary electric razor, wtih "R" in center of circle suggesting Remmington brand. Black and white does well. Find myself wishing for less blur in the main set of rings. |

Independence Dayby jmritzComment: Originality: abstracting star/stripe ides of Independence Day without the cliche colors
Composition: excellent balance of light and dark, shapes and negative space, near symmetry with interesting variation
Narrative: allows viewer's imagination to play with what you present
Highest score in the challenge on my scale. Sorry to see my red bar at the upper end lacking appropriate company. |

Winter Shadowby zencowComment: A shade of blue! Light behind objects -- making shadows that fall on the window dressing -- fits a nontraditional vision of contre-jour in my opinion. Love the intricate texture balanced by the thin horizontal lines, and the contemplative mood. |
