Felis Catus Abstractusby NuzzerComment: The sharp bright curves in the lower left contrast with the furry blur elsewhere. A different title might have left more room for the viewer's imagination to work (folded angle wing, passing show girl in costume?) instead of landing on the concept of "cat" right away. |

Vocalists weapon of choiceby stphqComment: This would seem more abstract without the stand and cord as part of the image. Good macro and well composed portriat of a microphone. |

Man & Dogby whatdewucComment: I'm ranking this high, right up there with more clearly defined images. This echoes a style of abstract painting later than the impressionists, with a subtle oriental feeling tossed in for interest. I don't get the title, but I like the image. |

White Squaresby frosty1Comment: Whether macro of fabric or a temporary gathering of the stars in the sky into squares, the diagonal composition meets the challenge well. |

Thirstyby LiamD2005Comment: I once got a similar set of circles and curved shapes by shooting directly down the mount of a plastic water bottle. Nice lighting for most of the image. Having the center circle darker would have been interesting, although potentially very difficult to achieve (depending on what you had to work with). |

Metallic Solar Systemby kevip6Comment: Good choice for title, as it leads the imagination along the abstract path. Having a lot of the background blurred works well because so many of the foreground spheres are sharp. |

Layersby CidpilotComment: Very pretty bunch of curving shapes. I wonder if it would be a stronger image with the bright spot on the right cropped out (cloned out mabye even better, but not allowed in basic). |

Silver Stepsby mattchristopherComment: Interesting collection of curves. Having a thin line border intersect with them that way doesn't seem desirable. |

Branching Outby ErikVComment: Nice tones, shapes, shading, even if not especially abstract. 6. |
