The Empty Parkby scarab440Comment: Very subtle. I hope you get the credit it deserves. It could use a bit more contrast, though. |

High Strung Trumpetby JMartComment: Yay! Creativity. lol And the larger instrument almost seems to be a reflection of the one on the left! |

An Englishmans Home...by taljComment: The branches framing the shot are great. The diagonal makes it a bit more unusual, and the tones are wonderful. |

Winter Waterfrontby NikonJebComment: I scored this a 6. I definitely saw (and appreciated) the quiet beauty. OTOH, there was something about the processing (in the building and the tree in front of it) that seems harsh/over processed. Maybe too much contrast? I'm not good enough myself to pin it down, but it conflicted w/ the mood and pulled the score down for me. |

A different kind of streetby KelliComment: I gave this a 6. I like the central figure (and how he's perfectly in line w/ the first row - I thought he was supposed to be part of that row when I voted!)
I sort of like the feeling of motion - but fell the need for more clarity somewhere. Either have the marchers in focus (I'd really like to see more detail in them, although maybe that wouldn't score well either), or have the buildings in focus to contrast w/ the blur of the moving marchers.
Even as is, I don't think it deserved such a low score. |

watchingby RetroesqueComment: I thought this was beautifully surreal. I might have scored it higher if I had seen the reflection in the TV better - I see it now and love it.
I only gave it a 6 though because of the color. It seems to have a greenish cast, and yet the green of the grass is faded. It's like you couldn't decide if you wanted it in color or B&W and split the difference. I think I'd have liked it better either B&W or w/ stronger colors (maybe even surreal colors). |
