now that i know what it is, i want one! at the time of voting, however, i had no clue, though i thought it looked like lips. the blown out part in the upper left corner didn't appeal to me either. i like the red reflection in the chrome.

i like the rust colours and the sky. i guess i'm not that keen on cars so it didn't hold much interest for me. also,the front part of the ornament looks slightly out of focus. i'm giving you my non-technical opinion even though i didn't give it a low score, though not the highest either.

i'll take the snickers :) very creative contrast. the snickers bar seems a little oversharp to me. i also like that you don't have the usual blinding white background.

i can't say that it is very 'textured' unless 'smooth' is a texture. i can see where the colours in the center have a textured effect. it's a really eye-catching and beautiful photo. /9

aside from a little bit of shadow creeping in near the outside of her right eye, i love the left side of this photo. the way it's lit and the shadow outlining her nose and lips. but... the left eye just doesn't not look right to me at all. it looks like her eye is bloodshot with some weird red eye make-up going on.

the swan is isolated by contrast. the effect on the water is pretty neat, but i don't like that it looks like she's trying to swim through an oil spill. the brightness in the background also takes my eyes away from her. /6

the white spaces on the board are not very white and the left side of the background is blown out. the right side of the background has that dark vertical line distracting from the rest of the photo. i also would have had the pieces set up in which they would illustrate the title better such as having the white king in jeopardy.
