Initial: Looks like a dinosaur creeping from the depths. The photo was submitted so small, it is difficult to review in detail.

The tones are nice. .. i.e. the exposure was done well to allow for a range of tones for a nice black and white. The multiple textures make this an interesting photograph. In fact, I would wonder about the inclusion of the water in the background.. as it seems to not add anything to the rest.. but again..this is a small photo to judge.

Initial: great texture.

Composition: This is pretty straight forward. It is documenting a pine cone.

Technical: Focus and clarity is very nice...it does tend to make it stand right out of the frame, and the lighting adds to the 3D effect, so that is done very well.. only suggestion I would make is to use a reflector to fill in the shadows within the pine cone if possible. Use of duotone is done effectively.

Emotive? Not really. Interesting? Limited.

from this perspective, it looks like a tounge! neat visual. alternate title: open wide >> would reference the person about to drink it, and would give reference to the mouth of the bottle.
