Wave in Motionby waltomlComment: Critique Club:
Initial: It is motion. It is a wave. I am not captivated though.
Composition: The line of the wave leads my eye into the photo.
Technical: Good use of shutter speed, lighting, and DOF.
Quality: Clear and crisp.
Overall: Good try. I, and I am sure many others, have tried this. It just isn't a subject that makes an impact.

Shooting Stars!by GordonComment: Oooh. Not fair to do a Critique on your shot Gordon... (ack)
(intimidation strikes)
okay..here goes
ahem..
Critique Club
Initial: Cool shot!
Composition: Nice arrangement of the stars.. Including 3 makes it intersting and makes my eye wander to each one. The framing is good, although I wonder what it would have looked like to tilt the camera in an unorthodox way, i.e. instead of portrait or horizontal, something askew in between to give depth to the image.
Technical: Excellent control while zooming in to create the streak effect. Exposure is right on, and the quality is excellent as well.
I like the global interest this has... can mean something to many. Love the shooting star effect. Wonder if the different framing would include more of the streaking on the lower right star.

Pressure Valveby amonteforteComment: The louvered doors/shutters in the background distract from this. I think this is a manequin.. is it? would be more powerful with a completely black background. |
