Missing shoeby MrAkamaiComment: Thanks for the comments everyone! To answer a few questions...
1. Yes, he was looking straight at the camera when I took his picture so, yes, he's looking at YOU. :)
2. I am not in the reflection at all. I believe those are his jeans in the reflection.
3. About the highlights, I wish they weren't there either. I tried to burn those nasty spots but it was to no avail. There weren't enough details for Photoshop to use for burning so I had to leave them alone. I suppose I could have cloned some in but I didn't think of that until just now. |

Psst, wanna buy a hat?by MrAkamaiComment: Thank you to those that voted and left comments. They are all appreciated very much. This guy's dance was probably the best part and what you see here is just a slice of the entertainment. I guess this explains the poor scores as this freeze frame of his routine is quite out of context for most people. I hope I get some insight from the critique club about this one because I could REALLY use it. :( |

lighthouseby slonkoComment: This is a dramatic landscape/marine photo then I take the title into account. I had to struggle to locate the lighthouse. I presume it's the tiny thing on the top of the rocks. Contrast is also a bit dark and flat. |

Saint Mary's Lake by jodiecostonComment: I like the strong contrast type of photo but I think the top of the sky was darkened a bit too much and is a bit distracting. Details of eveything from the trees to the rocks on the mountains to the distant clouds is amazing. |

Kinkakuji Templeby JesuispeureComment: Photo feels slightly tilted to the left. Other than that, nice soft focus and use of natural light. |

Life and Deathby jrs915Comment: Very impressive macro. Normally I don't cringe at insects but this one does it to me. I guess it's all the details I can see. Lot of tiny little hairs...black beady eyes... . Although this one appears to be a female spider with the long eyelashes, LOL! Great focus and DOF and all that stuff. 10 |

The Wallby blemtComment: Don't know if you played with the idea of using the wall to create the other half of the Washington Monument instead of using it to make a second one. I do like the current version, however. I also like how you kept the names blurred to keep them anonymous but we can still see them as names. 5 |

Washington Monument Sunriseby ClubJuggleComment: I really like this entry a lot. Lighting, composition, focus, cropping...all perfect. What's wrong with it? Color balance seems a bit biased towards blue. The trees do not appear black (what I would expect considering the time this was taken) but have a blue and red tint. 6 |

Barnstormerby dsa157Comment: Excellent subject matter for the free study. I love how the smoke trains the eye to follow towards the plane. Negative space is perfect and so is the cropping. Smart choice going with b/w, as well. 10 |
