Wedding dayby MrAkamaiComment: Nice to know that people still view and leave comments! You're absolutely right and for the life of me I cannot recall if I did feather the roses but like you said I probably didn't and should have. They do have an artificial look about them, don't they? I appreciate your comments. |

the old wayby lodeComment: Details of the pole are sharp. Although the leaves are blurred, they almost seem to play the role of main focal point next to the in focus pole. This is because they occupy such a large portion of the frame. Try to maintain focus on the subject you want to emphasize such as the pole and lines. |

Whats Up?by qmdiComment: I totally forgot to look at your new photos! Looks like this lens is pretty good and produces nice details. Great work! |

The Porchby dartompkinsComment: From a technical standpoint, I see these flaws: contrast, lighting and cropping. Contrast and lighting are flawed in a similar way. The low light levels affects the overall contrast of this image. Like you mentioned yourself, it needs to be cropped to get rid of that white spot.
Aesthetically, it just doesn't pack a visual punch. I see the railing, the water, bits of the roof and the sunset but there isn't a main focal point that grabs my attention.
Hope that helps! By the way, I did not vote in this challenge. |

The Bearded Ladyby ellamayComment: Very good macro shot. Great details of the wings and most of the body. Overal feel is a bit dark although contrast of the wings seems to be very good. 6 |

Parrot Portraitureby buzzrockComment: Very sharp details and well saturated colors. My only complaint is with the bright lighting. It's casting a fairly strong shadow of the parrot's beak onto the yellow feathers. 7 |

Ethan, Dirty Face and Allby smellyfish1002Comment: Excellent b/w! I realy like the strong contrast you gave this shot. The eyes just draw me into this photo. Crisp details and excellent tonal balance. I wish his face were much dirtier, though, as that is what kids do best. 8 |

Graceful Departureby connieComment: Really lovely sunset and the colors are amazing. Even the curves of the shoreline are graceful. I see some vignetting in three of the four corners. 6 |

Essenceby ShiiizzzamComment: Heh, when I see/hear the word "essence" I think about Emeril Lagasse. But your photo captures a different essence: that of a woman's neck and shoulders. Graceful curves and shadowplay are this photo's strong points. Not sure what's going on in the background but I would have preferred a solid color vs that mottled pattern that resembles noise. 7 |
